Senior Mets 2010 - Gaffey and Hetzer have many top 16 finishes!

Mikaila Gaffey had many top 16 finishes including a 2nd place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 1:05.29, a 6th place finish in the 50 free with a time of 24.57, a 9th place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:24.50 and a 15th place finish in the 100 free with a time of 54.06!! Nicole Hetzer had a 7th place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.63, a 15th place finish in the 50 free with a time of 25.14 and a 12th place finish in the 200 breast with a tiem of 2:28.53!! Other CSC swimmers at Senior Mets were Chris Cannon, Sara Dieterich, Katherine Green, Daniel Gshwind and Claudia Reyes. Great job everyone!!

January Meet Update

It has been a busy meet month with lots of meets and lots and lots of great swims, new QUAL times and lots of medals and ribbons!! Of course our older swimmers have also been busy studying for all their midyear midterms all in the midst of all this competing. The dedication of our swimmers to both their swimming and academics is amazing and admired by all. Now we begin our championship meet season and the real fun begins. Sachem January Meet

The snow cleared out in time for our swimmers to bring home lots of medals and ribbons from the Sachem meet this past weekend. Katherine Green had 3 Gold medal swims in the 100 free, 100 IM and 50 free!!, Richard Llewellyn had 4 silver medal finishes in the 100 back, 100 free, 200 im and 50 free, Natasha Rice had 2 gold in the 100 back and 50 back and 3 other 2nd place finishes in the 500 free, 50 fly, and 50 free, Clara Russell had gold in the 500 free and silver in the 50 free and 3 bronze swims!! Alli Hemp broke the minute in the 100 free!! TYR Cup 2009

Congratulations to all our swimmers who qualified for a competed at this year TYR cup. This meet has very tough entry times for qualification and the meet competition proved to be very competitive. We had many swimmers who earned point for CSC at this meet by placing in the top 16 in one or more events.

Dieterich, Gaffey, Hetzer and Reyes STATE CHAMPS!!- 200 FREE RELAY - 1.37:99 - Automatic All-American!! THIRD and new varsity record in the 50 Free For Mikaila Gaffey and Third for the same Quartet in the 200 Medley Relay!

Results Other results included a 6th place finish in the 100 breast for Mikaila with a time of 1:06.35, for Nicole Hetzer an 11th place finish in the 200 im with a time of 2:09.58 and a 14th place finish in the 100 free with a time of 54.06, Claudia Reyes finished 23rd in the 200 free and Sara Dieterich finished 41st in the 100 back.

Four CSC Swimmers Are Heading to The States Meet

State Qual Results
Sara Dieterich, Mikaila Gaffey, Nicole Hetzer and Claudia Reyes all head to state next weekend on the Section XI team. The foursome broke county records in the 200 medley relay and the 200 free relay at the meet. Mikaila was Suffolk County Champ in both the 50 free and 100 breast and also received MEET MVP!! Nicole Hetzer is county champ in the 200 IM and the 100 free and also broke the High School record in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.56! Sara Dieterich made the team in the 100 back and Claudia Reyes made the team in both the 200 and 100 free. The CSC Varsity also received the Sportsmanship award for the season. Congratulations to Coach Alex and to Coach Larry for always bringing our swimmers to new highs.

Our other CSC Varsity girls who competed at state quals were Tiffany Catano, Katherine Green, Jacqueline Tromp, Marissa Mignano, Eva Russell, Sarah Aiello, Lindsay Dundas and Alli Hemp! Great job everyone!!.
